Went to figure drawing class, and had the opportunity to draw a 20's style model, and a muscle man actor. The latter to come soon. I enjoyed having the opportunity to develop the drawing and noticing it's flaws but not feeling obligated to "fix" them I let the drawing go where it needed to.

It has been a while since my last post, but I was spending some time re-aligning my artistic balance. I have been having a love affair with roses lately, I just can't seem to get enough of them. I plan to draw them a lot more in exploration on how to make them my own. It is fun so far!

Humming Dancing

This was a recycled painting that I formed into a subject that repeatedly surfaces in my work: dancing figures.
I love dynamic silhouetted figures and the energy that can be portrayed. Dancing as a subject is probably something that most woman can relate to because it is a natural form of expression. There are so many pressures in everyday life but dancing is so much about the enjoyment and letting go of all inhibitions and reservations into a single moment.

Botanical Dream

This piece has been in the works for a while. It's a collage of tracings from a detailed william morris design with undulating color and shapes.
